This public space in Zurich, normally completely empty, is used for all manner of events from circuses to the annual Boog burning. At the moment it has been co-opted for the EM 2008 shennanigans. This poor girl is stuck in the middle, has no escape and is often subject to fits of caprice. Here the builders have had a bit of fun

A gazzilion photos to choose from today as the Childrens Parade passed off in brilliant sunshine (last couple of years were wet and miserable). However I had to pick one. Might post some others elsewhere
Our little walk up the Zuriberg takes a break for Sechseläuten. Today preparations continue, all the bunting is out, and the stalls and funfairs are being erected. Tomorrow it's the childrens parade, and then on Monday the great and the good parade in all their finery, culiminating in the burning of the Böög at Sechseläutenplatz
