Cergie - some interesting comments. i think I know what you mean by the USSR/China connection - when propogandist art showed strong purposeful women. Indeed this young lady was "Fluette" - I'm not 100% sure but I think it just means slender. However I think she really was an "habitué" of Bahnhofstrasse, and not something more severe!

Considered that the ususl online dictionary I'm used to consult says that "slender" and "fluette" -in italian- have same meaning (so your translation from fremch to English is correct), this photo is plenty of appealing ;-)
