No more colour! It's official

Yesterday I posted a colour photo. I spent a while adjusting the colours, which were rather subtle, and previewing the results in Mac and Windows browsers to try and get a best common denominator. However after looking at the image on several other peoples PC's I was amazed how much they still varied based on hardware and software. It's hopeless - I give up.

So here's some nice leaves that came back in a recent bunch of black and white negs.

......I'm still chuckling; in fact trying not to laugh. This is almost about to become serious.

... and the black, white and grey tones are the same everywhere? :-)

Have you finished with Venice?

Peter - you are absolutely right of course, but remember that I have my prejudices to maintain! Seriously though, it never seems to matter so much with B+W. With colour, if you are attempting to create a particular effect, it is much more likely to be destroyed. With B+W most of it survives - in my opinion

Nah - not so nice leaves - but I don't like your photos in colour - too pedestrian!
I've said it before - I can't see you in the photo, if you do it in colour.
I like to think of you as refined and sophisticated (even though you use that word "bullocks").
Colour always seems so garish (which must be why I take all my photos in lurid shades!) and exuberant.
You don't have red hair, do you?
I think that would explain a lot.

Laetitia! Nice to see you - I've missed you and your comments. I have to say though that I have never used the word bullocks. Bollox and even bollocks but never bullocks. That's some kind of cow with no bollocks isn't it? Yes - I can't image Oz doing anything other than 100% technicolour - can you imagine Rules, or Ricky Ponting in black and white? Wouldn't be the same

Rules in B&W would be Collingwood and that is bollocks no matter how you misspell it!
