Paradeplatz

Paradeplatz Zurich

Paradeplatz, at the centre of Bahnhofstrasse is a big tram junction. This morning at 6.30am the snow has started falling again. For the technically obsessed (like me) this is an interesting photo. It's one of the first taken with an old Zuiko lens (100mm f2) married to a Canon EOS5D body. Seems to work ok. I'm still experimenting. If anyone wants more info on this, drop me a note.

To me, technique is only a means, never an end.
What I enjoy here is the silhouette of this guy weathering the snow, his natural body response to the cold and damp, and his perfect profile against the well lit shop window.

You depicted the atmosphere well, but to tell you the truth I'd rather be here than there! Cheers!

@nathalie - yes I can say this morning, waiting for a tram, that the beaches of Australia held a certain attraction

@gesa - thanks alot, but you know most of my images (like yours) are analogue. It' sjust sometimes with the daily photo thing you just can't waitr until you've had all these films developed and then scanned. On this blog it's roughly 50/50 analogue/digital

@susanne - Ich bin Richard, aber Gesa hat wunderschöne blog http://www.gesas-lichtschriften.de

This is a stunning shot!
I like the composition, show the rain appears on the image and contract/tone. Its a perfect one.

Did you use one of those lenses mount adapters? I see one line Nikon lenses to EOS Body.
I was thinning, is there any mount adapter for Zuiko to Nikon. Meg has Olympus OM2n and quite good quality manual lenses include 50mm F1.2 sleeping in the bag for loooong time.

@ben - I got the adapter from cameraquest.com. I'm not sure you can get one for OM-Nikon though. The main reason I purchased it was so I could use fast primes, but also the Olympus macro gear. However I've found that the results with the all the top Zuiko lenses I have are excellent. I'm not sure I would have bothered if I didn't have a full frame sensor body, because of the focal length multiplier.
